  Only been here once. Sadly it was on the day they switched computer systems so there was a bit of a wait to check in but they dealt with it calmly and provided a complimentary drink by way of apology which was a nice touch. The location is very convenient and opposite a park which looked lovely on a sunny frosty morning with the big wheel of a fun fair in the background. Sadly we found the beds uncomfortable and pillows too soft. In defence of the hotel, we didn't give them opportunity to put these issues right as the reception seemed to have enough problems wrestling with the new computer system and we were on limited time. All the staff were pleasant and if we had complained, I'm pretty sure they would have made found a way to help.

  Great staff! Comfortable room. I had a wash room, which leaked water into the entire bathroom which was not so great but they promptly offered to switch me to a different room. The breakfast was fantastic. Thought the smoked salmon on English muffins and scrambled eggs was a little weird but it was free so who can complain. The bartender during my initial stay was leaving, he was phenomenal. The interim bartender was alright, still learning the ropes. Would definitely stay here again.

  My husband and I recently stayed at the Gonville Hotel. We were particularly impressed with the concierge service. Elliott (He gets FIVE stars) was very helpful with suggesting interesting and historical sights to see. The breakfast each morning was delicious and our room was very comfortable. Overall, the staff at the Gonville made our stay very pleasant!
