  Unfortunately I'm giving this a low rating. The staff were great and very friendly but both the mains we ordered here were pretty awful. Even with conscientious staff, nice live music and interesting decor the absence of good food makes this place a bit of a failure. The concept for the restaurant seems to be to 'balance' every plate within the flavour groups. So the scallops which fell under the 'sour' heading had a insipid yellowish sauce which I think must have been intentionally soured but then sweetened. I didn't feel comfortable with a mouth full of soured and then sweet seafood.
  
  My ham hock equally had a kind of odd balance. The ham hock was cold which isn't unusual but the other pieces to the plate were also different temperatures- none being piping hot. The ham was quite sweet but it just didn't work for me.
  
  The restaurant may have taken this calculated risk - for everyone like myself there may be 50 people who love the balances. Just didn't work for me or my companion. It's a shame.
  
  I can't fault the staff - I guess it was either the concept or maybe the chef was having a bad day.
