  Had an excellent starter and main, but poor dessert (a strangely sour tarte tatin). Service not great at times (possibly overstretched and/or inexperienced, but this is quite expensive dining, and we were effectively ignored by our waiter from half way through our meal).

  Pretty disappointing for the price and the expectation of a Michelin star. The cooking was well executed l, presented nicely, but there were a number of misses with the service, and some portions of some dishes were really tiny. We had a 3 course menu for £70, which came with 2 bonus courses (quite nice, but if we wanted that many courses, maybe we would have had the tasting menu at £80). My wife had the slow cooked beef started, which didn't last 2 mouthfuls. My starter of ham and peas was lacking in flavour, and a fumble forgetting to cover my dish in pea water was embarrassing and probably not worth having. Nothing wrong with the food, but falls a long way short of the price tag.

  Good. Service is mostly good but not quite there on occasions (some staff seem bored repeating the same menu/cheeseboard), Some food very good, other meals are good rather than excellent. Would go back to try again.
